Data Deletion Policy
What happens when a Travaix user deletes their account, and why published reviews remain untouched.
Last updated:
Deleting your account
Signed-in users can delete their account from the profile Danger Zone. The user must type DELETE before the deletion action becomes available.
After successful deletion, Travaix signs the user out and redirects to the homepage.
Data deleted with the account
- User account record.
- Auth.js provider account records.
- Passwordless email verification codes for the account email.
- Employment verification codes and company verification records.
- Profile details, privacy settings, and work history.
- User-company review participation records.
- Company follows.
- Sign-in event records tied to the user.
- Review reports submitted by the user.
Data retained or anonymized
Published reviews are not modified or deleted because reviews are intentionally anonymous and are not linked to user accounts.
Company requests submitted by the account have the requester email cleared rather than deleting the request record, so administrators can retain the request history without retaining that requester identifier.
Sessions
Travaix uses Auth.js JWT sessions rather than database session rows. Account deletion signs the user out after deleting account data.
Manual deletion requests
If you cannot access your account, contact privacy@travaix.com. Travaix may need to verify that you control the email address before acting on a manual deletion request.
